The browser service always takes a while to settle down after a restart. And which machine gets the master browser role is pretty random if you don't have a domain. The basic browser troubleshooter (KB188305) assumes that you have a domain structure.

Hi Bill,
Thank you for your reply,
is there any way of stoping the server to being backup browser and stop the election? as the servers are in different cities and they are connected to the same subnet (through VPN). and keep getting errors on random machines about master browser, and its
been more than 10 days, and i m still getting errors that election is started.
how long usually it takes settle down?
