Masetr Browser issue.

In my detailed network report I have one critical event which says:

The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer WAYFINDERS that believes that it is the master browser....

This PC I have just comissioned but have not added it to the Network yet because it does not offer me the chance to select the local user during the add client wizard (at which point I cancel the wizard). This happenend once before but problem disappeared.

If I try to follow up the MS solution
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/188305 and do "browstat status" in the command line of the server, the command is not known.

Can anyone advise what is happening here and suggest a fix?

Many thanks for your time.

Hi,
In order to stop this error from occuring, use Regedit and
set the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters\MaintainServerList
from Auto or YES to FALSE on the WORKSTATION
You can set this through a GPO as well or a login script.
You can check
