MX domain records problem
Hi,I've recently bought windows server 2003 and I need to setup some MX records with my domain name provider (1and1).Im having a few issues and this is my understanding of how it works, my IP is xx.xx.xx.xx lets say and my domain e.g. test.com.I've made sure port forwarding on my router is setup (port 25) and this is what i've done so far:Have a static IP of xx.xx.xx.xx -> Made a domain doing a redirect to the servers IP (xx.xx.xx.xx) mail.test.com -> changed the MX records of test.com to mail.test.com.It just doesnt seem to want to connect when I try it "client" side, it says "Cannot connect to your POP3/SMTP e-mail server.I have checked on Email Server Test (http://www.mxtoolbox.com) and this is the result ...........Session Transcript: HELO please-read-policy.mxtoolbox.com250 xxxx-server Hello [xx.xx.xx.xx [141 ms]MAIL FROM: <test@mxtoolbox.com>250 2.1.0 test@mxtoolbox.com....Sender [141 ms]RCPT TO: <test@mxtoolbox.com>550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for test@mxtoolbox.c [172 ms]QUIT221 2.0.0 xxx-server Service closing transmission chann [125 ms]Rev DNS Check: OK - xx.xxx.xx.xx resolves to hostxxxxxxx.rangexxxxx.btcentralplus.comNote: If I put the IP in e.g. 127.0.0.1 (the local IP) then it can connect fine, however it will not send mail and gives a message of 'test@test.co.uk' on 11/01/2009 00:43 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for test@test.co.ukthis happens will all emails not just test@Test.co.uk.
