MS Server Updates
Hello everyone,Is there any way to tell which Updates will need a reboot of the server?Sometimes we have to reboot after applying updates and others no reboot.Thank you

You can't always tell. If it overwrites a file that is in use, then a reboot will be required. So it can actually vary from computer to computer. If you have an app running that ties up a file so that it can't be overwritten when the installer runs, then the installer writes a copy of the file, and sets a registry key that causes the file to be overwritten by the new copy the next time the machine starts. So to summarize, you can make some good guesses (if a file is likely to be in use), and sometimes know for sure (if the file is an OS file that is ALWAYS in use).
