MSDN Operating System subscription and Azure Credits

Hi

I'm trying to find out if the MSDN Operating System subscription lets you run Windows 10 client VM's for test in Azure.

Also does this subscription come with any Azure credits, and access to the reduced Dev VM run time costs in Azure similar to the Professional MSDN subscription.

Hi,

If you have the Windows 10 client images for the MSDN subscription in the gallery, you should be able to run the same

As per the document here,  MSDN images in the Gallery include Windows 10.

Please find the Monthly Azure credits for MSDN subscribers here.

Hi Shirisha

thank you for getting back to me.

I dont see the operating systems subscription listed so i assume it's not in the free credit offer.

im not sure if the client os is in the gallery as i have not taken the subscription out yet, could you confirm if it is available in the gallery, and if i get the reduced 33% discount on Windows Virtual Machines.

Hi MuckelD,

I see that Windows 10 64 bit enterprise editions are available for MSDN subscribers. The easiest way to get a list of the MSDN images is to check the little MSDN filtering checkbox as shown below.

Yes, MSDN subscribers should receive  a 33% discount on Windows Virtual Machines. However, I will also recommend you to create a free service request with billing team to check your subscription details and to check the corresponding credits.

Hi MuckeID,

If you see my screen shot above, for my subscription when I select MSDN there appears to be the images for Windows 10. I would like you to try the same for your subscription and check .

It may vary for a  subscription type. Could you share the Service request no. raised with the azure billing team so that I can follow up with them for the correct information.

Hello Michael,

Windows 10 Client VM's can be created only by the MSDN subscribers(any). That being said, you would need to own and MSDN subscription to be able to create an MSDN subscription.

Once you create an MSDN subscription you should be able to deploy VM's using the image for Windows 10 Client.
