MBSA Offline Updates - muauth.cab no longer available from MS
Hello, I am trying to run offline patching on stand-alone windows XP machines in a secure (i.e., does not connect to the internet) environment. The MBSA instructions from MS (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff647642.aspx) say that I need 3 files: the update catalog (wsusscn2.cab), the authentication file (muauth.cab), and the update installer (WidowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe) I was able to download the catalog and updater installer files, but the link from MS to the muauth.cab file is dead (404 - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=90994). Does anyone know where to find this file? Is it still needed? Thanks!
