Loss of communicatio with database
I am using win 7.0 pro - i have three very simular computers running the same programs that show images stored in a databace on the server. 2 of the computers work just fine - however one of the computers loses communication with the database after a few minutes ( 10 min) of network activity - Other computers working on the same network . Interestingly , if their is minimal network activity ( like on the weekend) the program works just fine for hours even days - but as soon as other computers are used extensively it looses contact. However the computer can still communicate on the netywork and access the internet! My IT guy has checked out things has found nothing different. we have plugged the computer into the same switch ports etc of the working computers and seem to have ruled out hard ware problems ... please help Thanks Dwayne

Make sure you have the most updated network drivers and firmware on both server and client. Remove AV if you have this installed for testing Make sure you only have one network card enabled. Remove station from domain and reset computer account in AD then re-add the station back to the domain.

Hi mdyodoux, Thanks for posting here. You might follow what dariusg suggested to update your hosts first . Meanwhile, I’m curious on how does this program connect with your database ? through any specific protocol ? will it still can access this server with other protocols like FTP or SMB when it issue occurs ? or maybe there was some limitations on connection numbers.
