When does anyone think that "Longhorn" will be made available to the general public and it will be worth it getting?

Windows Server "Longhorn" is currently available to MSDN and TechNet subscribers and we expect that we will make it more broadly available to the general public in the Beta 3 timeframe, which is the first half of 2007. As for whether it will be worth getting, it would be too easy for me to give a biased answer () so other forum posters should weigh in. In the meantime, you can check out some of the technical reviews we've already received from publications like eWeek, InfoWorld and Windows IT Pro magazine.
