Longhorn and Media Player
On the weekend I downloaded Longhorn beta 3 and so far I like what I see except for a couple of things.
Before I go into that I hope that this O/S will be as stable as I found Windows 2000 and if it is I will be very happy.
Anyway, back to business I am wondering why Longhorn doesn't have some sort of media player?
If you are going to be sitting infront of the computer using this program one should have the choice of playing music. Now I have looked everywhere but cannot find a media player so ended up downloading Winamp to get by with.
Also, what drivers does one look for with regards to a sound card Vista or XP ? I have a Creative Fatility card and I would like to be able to use it in both beta 3 and the final release program.
Customisation of Longhorn ( beta 3 and beyond ) In XP you can customise your panels to not show things you don't want to see, but it seems like beta 3 has a mind of its own. When cusomising the size of the panels like Windows Explore or your default home page reverts back whenevere to get oout of them and want to return. I know if you just minimise them they hold their shape but sometimes I don't like to do that so having to resize them all the time can be annoying.
So, if anyone out there has answers to my questions/statements I would be very happy to read them.

Hi Stryder56
I had the same problem with longhorn. You need to use the Programs and features > Windows Features in the control panel to install media player, after install it requires a reboot.

Hi Brent, Thanks for your reply.
I did as AXL suggested and spent 3 hours looking for media player inside Longhorn lolol found media player files but it didn't want to play the game which in life isn't unusual.
I had already tried what you suggested Brent and after reading your reply I tried it again and I had no luck. I didn't mention that I downloaded the 64 bit version and maybe it doesn't have it in it.

Hi
It is included in a feature called "Desktop Experience". Just open the Server Manager and go to Features
