Logon photo from AD?
Is it possible to have people's logon photo for server 2008/Vista populate from AD when they're logging into the machine?

Yes, this can be done. I've a few links included in this post which you may want to check out:http://badzmanaois.blogspot.com/2008/09/adding-pictures-to-active-directory.htmlRegards,Salvador Manaois IIIMCITP | Serve/Enterprise AdministratorMCSE MCSA MCTS CE|H CIWABytes & Badz: http://badzmanaois.blogspot.com

Hi Salvador, thanks for the reply.I know how to get photos into AD - but what I'm wondering is how to get them to populate the logon picture automatically - specifically is it possible for it to show up, say, when someone terminals into the machine before logging in? (since the login name is retrieved) or is it only going to be possible after a profile is created?

Sorry, I missed out on that one. The image (.bmp) is actually stored here:C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\<username>.bmpYou can overwrite this with some other bitmap and force a logoff to get it applied. I've yet to test this, though. =)Regards,Salvador Manaois IIIMCITP | Serve/Enterprise AdministratorMCSE MCSA MCTS CE|H CIWABytes & Badz: http://badzmanaois.blogspot.com

I think I'm looking for exactly the same thing as the OP here, but either I'm not understanding the answer correctly or something is missing. Salvador's first post tells how to get the pictures into AD. His second post tells where the image file is located that windows uses for the logon picture. The part I'm not understanding is, how do I get from post 1 to post 2? We already have pictures in AD. How can I get Server 2008 to use the picture in AD as the user's image on the logon screen?
