Logins disappeared after SP1 install on sql server SA 2012

I have installed SQL service pack one on sql instance 2012 sa and all the logins except SA and admin are gone. This sql box is used as a dedicated sql server for sharepoint 2013.

The reason i installed SP1 is because supposedly the sharepoint cmdlts are not available in powershell  without it. All the update did was delete the logins and still the sharepoint cmdlts are not available.

Microsoft has yet again created faulty software that creates more work and less functionality.

Any help would be appreciated,

Luis

Hi Luis,

Commandlts are related to powershall. Powershall commandlets are based on windows operating system level.

I am not sure how sql server sp1 related to this.

I never come across applying service pack removed the existing logins.

Just wanted to check the user you logged have what kind of permissions?

Can you try login as SA or admin user to see if it is still the same case?

I do not think uninstalling your sp1 will put back every thing.

YOu might need to recreate again.

you need to take some pregautions before applying updates to your sql server in the sharepoint environment.
