Login Hangs
I've just removed admin privs from a user, bit now when he logs in it hangs right after the music. How to find out why? I've just restored admin to his account and same hang now. Didn't happen before.

Hi, Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums. Please provide more detail information regarding this issue. Is the user in a domain? What are the system types of the server and the client? In the meantime, please check the article below which can be helpful: Troubleshooting the intermittent slow logon or slow startup http://blogs.technet.com/b/instan/archive/2008/04/17/troubleshooting-the-intermittent-slow-logon-or-slow-startup.aspx Regards KevinTechNet Community Support

"Domain"? This is a standalone server in a VirtualBox VM. I'm pretty sure when I installed it, that I set it for local password handling. How would a domain be different?

Hi, Thank for you clarifying the issue for us. I understand that the problem occurs on a stand-alone server. I suggest we try performing clean boot to see if that user can log in properly: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/how-to-troubleshoot-a-problem-by-performing-a/5ecb211d-c882-4e55-a057-7ff42bc26eee Also please check and let us know whether the problem server is Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008.
