Log on
I have a windows 2003 server standard member server on an active directory network. I have the os mirrored on two drives. One of the drives was going bad. I broke the mirror and by mistake booted up on the bad hard drive. I then took it out and put the good hard drive in but now I can no longer log in on my active directory log in credentials and the local administrator login and password have been lost. How can I go about so that I can log on with my domain admin credentials? thanks, Mark Roshak

Hi, I would like to confirm the following questions first: What is the error message when you trying to login with a domain administrator? Can you logon this member server with other accounts?Do you mean that you forget the passwords for both domain and local administrators? If the domain administrator is locked out, please try to reset it with another domain administrator. If the password is forgotten, you will have to rebuild it. The error message is Windows connot connect to the domain, either because the domain controller is down or other wise unavailble or because your computer accunt was not found. Please try again later. If this message continues to appear, contact your system administrator for assistance. No other domain passwords work on the computer. I do not have local machine passwords for the computer. I am assuming that when I logged on with the bad hard drive AD did something that increments something on the OS so when I tried to log in again with the good hard drive it saw the OS on the mirrored drive as not the same computer that it all ready logged in. Is there nothing on AD that I can change to allow the domain to see the computer again?Mark Roshak
