Local system account for sdk and config service account supported in SCOM 2012 R2?

Hi there,

Is using the local system account as the sdk and config service account supported in SCOM 2012 R2 when using a remote sql database?

I remember this was not supported in SCOM 2007 R2, but I cannot find anything saying this is not supported in SCOM 2012 R2.

Thanx in advance.

Chris

Hi,

As we can see in the article:

The account used for the SDK and Config Service account must have local administrative rights on the root management server computer. The account should be either a Domain User or Local System. The use of Local User account is not supported. We recommended you use a different account from the one used for the Management Server Action Account.

And here is an article about how to change the OpsMgr SDK Service and the OpsMgr Config Service to use the Local System account if the Management Server and the Database Server roles reside on different computers, you may refer to it for more details:

Hi

You can use either Local System or a Domain User account which is local Administrator on the Management Server. See here https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh212808.aspx .

"The account used for the SDK and Config Service account must have local administrative rights on the root management server computer. The account should be either a Domain User or Local System. I personally use always a Domain User account and give it permission on the Management Servers. I do this for all cases local or remote databases.

Cheers,

Stefam

I tink that this is support on SCOM 2012. For how to change the OpsMgr SDK Service and the OpsMgr Config Service to use the Local System account if the Management Server and the Database Server roles reside on different computers, pls. refer to
