Local Users and Groups
On my Windows 2003 R2 Domain Controller under Computer Management the Local Users and Groups are going. How can I restore the Local users and Groups?

When a Windows server is promoted to a domain controller, the server no longer uses the local account (Security Accounts Manager) SAM database during normal operations to store users and groups. When the promotion is complete, the new domain controller has a copy of the Active Directory database in which it stores users, groups, and computer accounts. The SAM database is present, but it is inaccessible when the server is running in Normal mode. The only time that the local SAM database is used is when you boot into Directory Services Restore mode or the Recovery Console. Regards, Dave Patrick .... Before you promote DC, you have got local users that are stored in the SAM database of the server tht you can use to logon. Once you promote the DC, this database will disappear and you will only use domain accounts to open a session on your DC (only admin accounts). If you demote the DC, the SAM database will be re-created again. So, what you see as problem is just perfectly normal.
