Local Security Setting = Network Access
Is it safe to enable Network Access: Allow anonymous SID/Name translation in Local Security Settings.

Hi Choices1,Thank you for posting in windows server forums, This setting will be helpful if anonymous users are trying to connect to one of the service installed on the member server. windows denies anonymous connetions made to either applications / services installed on it . And yes this setting will expose your system to vulnerability attacks provided your system is connected to internet, but you can enable this connectiono in a locked down environment. And this depends on the application for which you are trying to provide the anonymous access . For eg: SQL instance where in you provide the anonymous access fro the user and he has the access to the SQL instance. if this isyour scenario make sure you provide just read access.For more information please read the link below http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc728431(WS.10).aspx
