Local Area Connection Network Cable Unplugged
Our laptop (TOSHIBA) has not been working properly for the past year. We couldn't connect to the internet to browse, but we recently got that figured out. Then it wasn't displaying any google webpages, but we figured that out as well. Now
I am using the laptop at work so I need to connect to the network (Local Area Connection) to be able to print from the network printer.
The laptop is connected to the internet wirelessly and I have no problems browsing the web or checking email. I cannot get a local area connection. It says 'network cable unplugged', but it's not plugged in because it's wireless. I've tried
lots of things from other postings but nothing has worked so far. Some things will get me connected to the local area connection for about 5 seconds then back to being unplugged. How can I fix this problem?

What is the result if you install the latest version of your NIC driver?
What is the result if you use another cable?
This may be a hardware problem.

Hi R Nafziger,
Thanks for posing here.
Please understand that wire and wireless network on your laptop could be used same time , and it’s depend on the network settings. Please plug the cable and check
if you could connect to the printer.
And you mentioned that the wire network had been connected five seconds , so could you check the cable and determine what cause it lost connection ? Perhaps you might
like to use another cable and try again .
Before we move on ,I would like to confirm the following information with you:
Which network the printer connected? Is that network as same as your laptop wirelessly connected ?
Could you post the “ipconfig /all” result of your laptop here ? and please post the printer’s network settings and the topology of your network for
further suggestion .
Thanks.
Tiger Li
