Hello guys I have had a Linux server for like 3 years. Easy to set up for web hosting and adding users. FTP Email etc all easy to set up.How ever I am a true Windows user at home and I recently purchased a Windows Server running 2008 SP1 about 60 days ago and I must say it is very difficult to set up. It took me days to figure out how to set up email, and now I am stuck setting up ftp services. Is there any help on these issues. This box is to be used for web hosting is that a good idea?ThanksRKJ

Hi,
I am sorry to hear that you encountered some problems in configuring mail access on Windows Server 2003. Actually, Windows Server 2008 is designed for easy usage and access. I understand that you are used to Linux server before. As you know, due to the difference between Linux and Windows Server 2008, there may be a learning curve for you to get used to Windows server. Hope you like it when you get more familiar with it. J
Yes, Windows Server 2008 can be used as a web server. To configure FTP on Windows Server 2008, I suggest that you refer to the following links:

Thank you for your kind reply. I will try those links and hopefully get my win 2008 server up and running. Right now I feel like I wasted my money on server 2008 and the box rental. As a web server provider I can not get things working properly to allow my customers to create web pages and email. I even purchased Helm control panel.
