Limit NIC speed on WSUS server

Hi

I have a bunch of servers hosted at a hosting provider. One of these servers are a WSUS server. I only have a 100 Mbit Internet connection. The WSUS server is serving computers all over the Internet on different kind of connections. Sometimes when we approve updates for many groups the WSUS server is using all the bandwidth and my other servers are getting unresponsive or very slow. I would like to limit my WSUS server to e.g. 70Mbit/70%, but not sure how to do it.

It is a Windows server 2012 R2 running on a VMware ESXi 5.1. I would prefer to do it the Windows way and not in VMware if possible.

You can configure the BITS. Sorry, i know it only in German, but i
think you will find what you are searching for.
http://www.wsus.de/bits At the end, you will find the Registry Keys
and Values.

since you're on 2012 R2, while BITS throttling is a good start, you can also look at branch cache / peer cache:
