Licensing for a management server
Hi Everyone, i can't seem to find any answers for this exact situation. We have a customer that we manage hardware software etc for. this customer has only ESXi servers running with all virtualized windows servers. We want to install one of our machines in their server room to run Vsphere on, as well as act as our RDP gateway to manage the site. Since this machine is owned by our company, can we install our own volume license edition of Windows XP pro, or does it have to be the customers since it is on their property. Please note this machine will not have access to any network shares or anything, not even on the domain. Simply our third party remote software installed, and Vpshere with RDP shortcuts (and allow us to log into the iLo via web browsers.) Cheers!

Hello, this you have to discuss with the partner in the other company. As long as the used machine is licensed correct it doesn't matter who owns/pays it. Just make sure all installed software has a license.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.
