Hi, I manage several Server 2003 machines and I've heard that the "Maximize data throughput for file sharing" and "Maximize data throughput for network applications" options can handle more than 64 connections. However, the "Balance option" accepts up to 64 connections only. Is this true?

Hi, I am not aware of any limitations set on the number of connections, all these settings do is handle the way system resources are allocated. The recommended settings are: To optimize the server for a small number of clients, click Minimize memory used. To optimize the server for a mixed usage of file and printer sharing in addition to other services, such as serving as an interactive workstation, click Balance. To dedicate as many resources as possible to file and print server services, click Maximize data throughput for file sharing.
