Kernel updates are cumulative?
Hello all, sorry for the dummy question but I'm facing this situation and not able to find an exhaustive answer.
On a Windows 2008 sp2 server I did apply a specific hotfix to solve a memory flush problem
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/974609/en-us and noted a kernel version of 6.0.6002.22283
After the last upgrade the version changed to 6.0.6002.22662
Can anyone confirm the last version also fix the previous bugs?
Thanks & Regards
Maurizio

Hi,
You may run the Windows Update to install all the important updates and hotfixes.
After that, the kernel version should be the latest version.

Generally Kernal updates are cumulative, but with refenece to 1 off hot fixes, That may not always be the case, I would suggest diving deep into the update patch notes, or opening a case with MS to have the dev team confirm it for you if this is business
critical.:P Advice offered, If you need more help it is advised to seek the council and advice of paid professionals. The answer is always 42, or reboot.
