Keeping size of replication down

I want to use Site Recovery Services but my replications are quite large.

I have a domain controller which has 2 file shares on it. I spent 4-5 days replicating 500gb to azure. It syncs now but some of my 15 min replications are around 11gb. On my connection that goes over the 15min replication and quite a few can stack up.

Now I know this isn't the end of the world, but I want to add 3 servers including SQL / Exchange that I can only presume will have much larger changes per replica.

Is there any ways to try and minimise the size of these replicas?

Hello Danie,

According size of data you have is better to use IMPORT/EXPORT from Azure StorageAccount to send your data to Azure DataCenter.

Other way I'm think is try to replicate using Windows Distribution File System, creating a VM on Azure and set your on-premises shares to DFS to Azure.

Last recommendation is use Azure Express Route and copy data to Azure DataCenter using VPN there is a offer expires on July 1, 2015

Please let me to know if this information help you.
