KMS Office 2010 failed to activate
having problems activating the KMS host for Office 2010, I get the following error message: "An error occurred: 0x80072EE2 To display the errror text, run the following: slui.exe 0x2a 0x80072EE2" The server is a Windows Server 2008 R2 core (virtual) firewall is off for allprofiles This server is already a KMS host and is already activating Win7 and Server 2008 R2 computers, we just need to to active Office 2010 (not beta) The error relates to having no internet connect, but I do have a internet connection and I have turned the firewalls off. To get to the internet the server uses and proxy and this cannot be bypassed. I am also using a correct licence key for activation

Hello Novice-Williams, Is basic authentication enabled on the proxy? then this article may apply 921471 Activation fails when you try to activate Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 over the Internet http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;921471Thanks, Darrell Gorter This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. cheers for your reply, but Basic authentication isn't enabled on the proxy I'm using. I have installed Network Monitor 3.3 and run the capture on this when I have tried to activate this KMS 0ffice 2010 host and it looks to me like it's not using the proxy to get out onto the internet. it's trying to get out on port 80 directly. it also looks like it is trying to ping 207.46.170.121 (destination unreachable) the server is Windows 2008 R2 CORE and I have run the netsh\winhttp\show proxy and it shows the proxy which I have set it to use. this is confusing me as a couple of months ago we actived KMS on this server for Win7 and Server 2008. Is the Office 2010 KMS host doing something different to the Win7 and server 2008 host?

Hello Novice-Williams, No it should be doing the exact same thing as Windows Activation did in this instance, you simply added the Office KMS host key , so it should only be using Windows SPPSVC service to activate, I thought that address was a web proxy addressThanks, Darrell Gorter This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
