KMS Activation Problem
I have several servers showing up in my KMS server as KMS HOST when they should show up as KMS CLIENT. Secondary to that issue is I also have 2 servers (win 2008 32bit std) that show up as KMS HOST with a license status of In OOB Grace. I have tried changing the product key, I found a post on the net somewhere that pointed me to using a VLK key from the install media in the sources folder from PID.txt however when i tried that key I got an error that said the key was not from the correct version of windows. I have tried removing the key with slmgr.vbs -upk and attempting to let the KMS server add the machine and license it. Nothing has worked.
So can someone help me figure out how to fix the KMS HOST problem and also get these 2 servers activated?
Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi,
Please convert your KMS hosts to KMS clients:
1. Uninstall the KMS host key first by running the following command:
slmgr –upk
2. Then install the default kms key by running the following command:
slmgr /ipk [KMS Client Setup Key]
3. Delete the record from the DNS:
Open DNS console:
Expand _tcp node under the domain.com. There will be a record _VLMCS. Delete this record.
Now The KMS server is uninstalled.
4. Then use the KMS client Setup keys to active your KMS clients:
· KMS client keys:

the second issue was resolved by your response to the first issue. Thanks a bunch.
The issue basically boiled down to we did not have the list of VLK keys and were using the wrong key to setup servers with. Thanks to your post, I got everything resolved.
