KB974455
I am curious as to why KB974455 (and other updates this month as well) apply only to Windows Server 2003 SP2.I have Windows Server 2003 SP1 with IE7 installed, yet I am not being prompted to install the critical update KB974455.Thanks for your time!

Hi DonFeuZ,
Since you have Windows Server 2003 SP1 installed with Internet Explorer 7, you may check the Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (974455) http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS09-054.mspx and find that this security vulnerabilities doesn't exist with Windows Server 2003 SP1 + IE7.
Therefore, the critical update of KB 97445 is not needed for your software environment.

SP1 is not supported anymore by Microsoft, see the support lifecycle. Since April 2009 no patches are released anymore for SP1. I advise you to upgrade to SP2 as soon as possible.
