KB971117 Install Fails
On a Windows2003 R2 SP#2 server I am being prompted to install KB971117 (all updates are distributed automaticlly with a WSUS GPO), but the install then prompts for a file to the path C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\IXP000.TMP\ which does not exist.
Can anyone tell me how to get this critical update installed ? All other updates and patches are installed and server is 100% except for this one security patch.

Hi,
Try to download the update from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=0dfaf300-2b53-4678-a779-0d805ddfe538&displaylang=en
Then move the package to C: and run the following command:
c:\reportviewer.exe /t:c:\test /c
The update will be extracted to C:\test folder. Run the Install.exe to see if issue still exists.
Meanwhile the update is for Microsoft Report Viewer, so the installation issue may also related to it. You may need to reinstall it to see if issue can be fixed:
