KB2518295 not installing windows 2003 server SP2
Hi, We have a couple of servers which are having problems in installing windows update KB2518295 the error log reads: 0.969: e:\c57171be8391bc3cdcf6e7157af6\update\update.exe (version 6.3.4.1) 0.984: DoInstallation: GetProcAddress(InitializeCustomizationDLL) Returned: 0x7f 0.984: Hotfix started with following command line: 1.047: In Function GetBuildType, line 1170, RegQueryValueEx failed with error 0x2 1.109: CreateUserInterface: GetProcAddress for DefineInstallCustomUI failed: 0x7f 1.125: Return Value From IsWebEnrollmentRoleEnabled = 0 1.125: IsWebEnrollmentRoleEnabled returned value( 0x0 ) which is Not Equal To 0x1 1.125: Condition Check for Line 1 of PreRequisite returned FALSE 1.141: ReadStringFromInf: UpdSpGetLineText failed: 0xe0000102 1.141: KB2518295 Setup encountered an error: Setup cannot continue because one or more prerequisites required to install KB2518295 failed. For More details check the Log File c:\windows\KB2518295.log 1.141: ReadStringFromInf: UpdSpGetLineText failed: 0xe0000102 1.141: Setup cannot continue because one or more prerequisites required to install KB2518295 failed. Not sure what pre-req has to be installed as the log does not specify.

Hi, Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums. To troubleshoot this issue, we can run chkdsk /r /f and sfc /scannow as a test. Also we can reset Windows Update components by running the Microsoft Fix It from here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 If this security update still cannot be installed, please check whether the system is installed with any third-party security program/software which might be related to this problem. Also we can reset Windows Update components by running the Microsoft Fix It from here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 If this security update still cannot be installed, please check whether the system is installed with any third-party security program/software which might be related to this problem.
