"Add workstations to domain" privilege to the Authenticated Users group by default. When this privilege is enabled, authenticated users can bypass the access control list (ACL) check for up to a predefined maximum value. To prevent misuse, the maximum number of machine accounts any authenticated user can join is 10 by default. You may receive this error message after the number of workstations that you attempt to join to the domain exceeds 10. This maximum-limit value can be changed in the Active Directory. You can change this value or you can add this user account to domain admins. Simple solution: add this user account to domain admins group or use different account for joining computer to the Domain. Hello, see this article about normal limits if a domain user account without any special permissions is used to add machines to the domain: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/243327/en-us And here is a really good article to configure it without admin permissions: http://blogs.dirteam.com/blogs/jorge/archive/2006/01/05/369.aspx Also see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932455Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Glad to see it is fixed. Notice: On July 1st we will be making Windows Server 2008 R2 General forum read only. After receiving a lot of feedback from the community, it was decided that this forum is a duplication and therefore redundant of the General Forum. So, until July 1st, we will start asking customers to redirect their questions to the General Forum. On June 11th, CSS engineers will move any new threads to the General Forum. Please post a reply to the announcement thread if you have any feedback on this decision or the process. You can also email WSSDComm@microsoft.com.
