Issue with Services and Resources coming up.

we have 2 nodes on a cluster,on one node we accidentally tried the Draining of Roles, but again paused it in between to revert back. This resulted in one of the roles on that cluster to fail. After checking i could see that the resources, instances to be offline,on trying to bring up they fail again.I could see that the Mount Point of one the folders was removed from share path and i cannot provide any share again to that folder, the network path cannot be detected. Under the share tab of failover cluster manager ,i could see that it shows File server role to be offline.Have tried doing flushdns but doesnot seem to work.Tried creating new folders and give them shared access but the network path is not detectable

Please help me out,i am new to Hyper-V 2012 and have searched every query, but cannot reach any conclusion.

Regards

Rohon

Can some one please suggest me ,my roles are still down ,i can see the file server role still offline.Tried moving one of the roles to other node, even that failed.Got a resolution of creating a new resource pointing to the IP address ,i donot know if it will work.Is it possible to rename the mount point and what will be the consequence of renaming it ?

You mention mount point, share path, and Hyper-V.  What is your configuration?  Where is the issue?  If it is something like a file share not coming up, have you tried removing the share from the cluster and then adding it back in?  Is it a share created on a Hyper-V server cluster?  Not really a recommended solution, but it should work (depending upon what you are using it for).  I think we need to understand your configuration a bit better as well as the exact errors you are seeing.

Hi Tim,

As of now the issue is resolved,i just had to experiment something.Stopped the Roles, moved the roles to other node, then added DisableStrictNameChecking with dynamic 1 from Regedit under SYSTEM>SERVICES>LANMAN>PARAMETERS ,after adding this parameter,i restarted the node, moved back the roles again and could see the mountpoint restored and all roles up and online.

We have 2 clusters each having 2 nodes all of which are VM's hosted on Hyper V 2012.The share was created on a Hyper-V cluster.I could see that the File share role was up and running but i could not see the mountpoint. We could not see any error from event viewer.I donot know if this is a permanent solution.
