If you have a single site, single domain network, then it is safe to go ahead and designate all of your domain controllers to act as Global Catalog servers. In this type of environment, all of the domain controllers contain full copies of the Active Directory anyway, so the additional resource consumption caused by having multiple Global Catalog servers will be minimal. Hi, Thanks for posting here. Yes, you can assign "global catalog" to the second DC also. You don't need to move or modify any server role to accomplish this task. For your convenience, please refer to the KB 313994. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/313994/ Best Regards, Wilson JiaThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
