Is it necessary to partition a hard drive into multiple drives on Server 2008 R2?
hi all,
I'm in the process of planning some new server deployments and will be using Server 2008 R2 as the OS and am wondering if there is any real value in patitionning a C: drive into a C: and D:. Does that even make sense in today's OS world? The
Servers would be used for operating sever software with an instance of a NoSQL database engine that would be used only to service local clients. I know this is a pretty open question but anyone have any recommendations and pros and cons?
I've found this old article about Considerations when planning disk partitions for Server 2003 (and did not help) but did could not find anything similar for 2008.

Thanks.

It does makes difference especially when you are planning to install SQL server.
And the article is still applicable for 2008 server family.

I appreciate the time that contributors invest to help others. I don't appreciate your choice of language on a public forum. I don't care how good you are.
