Is a RAID controllers cache policy impacted by a DC

Hello,

I know that a DC will turn off windows disk caching.   I was curious if it had any impact on the controllers disk caching policy.

Thanks

Hi,

DC turn off Windows disk caching because it needs to make sure that all changes are stored to AD database directly - with a caching, there is a chance that data are received but not written before a network issue or power supply issue.

To add to what Shaon says, Windows has no knowledge of whether or not the RAID controller has enabled caching.  That is set completely outside the bounds of the operating system.  Windows does not even know that it is talking to a RAID volume if said volume is created by a RAID controller.  The RAID controller does whatever it is configured to do and simply presents a volume to Windows.
