After security update from Microsoft that was distributed 12 oct 2011, there were some strange errors on the Windows 2008 server. 1.Internet explorer does not start. After waiting some hours it suddeny started, but after reboot it does not start anymore. 2. Control panel -> Windows update shows blank window. After waiting some hours it suddeny started, but after reboot it is blank again. 3. "remote" web server does not start 4. Many services related to MS Exchange report many differnt messages to Event log, but there is no clear indication how to handle these messages. Finally some services start, MS Exchange transport service fail to start, attempt to restart messages lead to various time-out errors. 5. Uninstalling updates from 12 oct 2011 leads to the screen "Configuring updates 0 %, 3 of 3" , remaining forever. After cold reboot it is still the same message. After another cold reboot it is still the same message. After booting with safe mode with command prompt twice the "Configuring updates 100 %, 3 of 3" appeared for a second . Now the updates were uninstalled. But the problem with Internet Explorer and with Windows Update Window being blank, and with Exchange , remains. 6. Google Chrome works. Any hints ?
