Getting licensing error while Installing windows server 2012 on VMWare player.

Downloaded windows server 2012 Eval, and trying to install on VMWare Player 5.0.0 in Windows7 Enterprise 32 bit PC.

Any one have solution to this issue.

Have you tried to install the Windows Server 2012 Eval on a physical machine or in Hyper-V? Since you noticed that you got the licensing error, please post the detailed error message here to get further analysis. At the same time, you need to make sure VMWare player is a supported platform to install Windows Server 2012.

I'm not sure whether the Windows Server 2012 is installed succefully or not. If it's a good installation except the licensing error, please run the following command in the command prompt with evaluated rights:

Slmgr /dli

Slmgr /dlv

Then post back the output result. Share a snapshot will be better.

Any update on this? Experiencing the same issue as above on the initiation of the install process. "Windows cannot find the Microsoft Software License Terms. Make sure the installation sources are valid and restart the installation."

Try installing Windows 2012 without using the easy install method of VMWare player. (Select Install OS later during innitial setup of the vm)

I had same problem during of install "Windows cannot find the Microsoft Software License Terms" - (VMW player 5 ) , this advise solved problem with licension .
( Not use easy install via VMWare player )

I had the same issue on VMware Workstation 8, then I updated to version 9, same issue.

Not installing via easy install resolved the issue.

From VMware Workstation's Home Tab

Click Create a New Virtual Machine

Set to Typical.  Click Next

Highlight I will install the operating system later.  Click Next

Choose Microsoft Windows under Guest operating system, and version is Windows Server 2012.  Click Next

Choose the location where you want the file(s) stored.  Click Next

Set your Disk Capacity (Default is 60 GB).  Click Next

Click Finish.

Now go into the settings of the VM (Ctrl + D)  Under CD/DVD point to the installer iso for Server 2012 and click OK.

Now power on/play the virtual machine.

If it is the "Windows cannot read the setting from the unattend answer file" then you need to disable easy assist.

Yup Its working fine!!!!!!!!!

Yes this is the Right step ,

Because while installing VMware easy method it will prompt to enter Serial Key. May this is the reason that it will not accept empty Keys while installation!!!!
