Installing windows server 2008 r2 64 bit on non V laptop

Hi,

I know the process of installing with virtual box. The problem is i have 64bit non VT system, how can i install on that ?
>> Didnt get your concern. What did you mean by how can i install on that?

As you mentioned, there isnt VT system(I guess hardware virtualization here) on your computer and Virtual box don't needs hardware virtualization. So just install Virtual box on your laptop.

By the way, this is a Virtual box issue and we mainly focus on the General question about Windows Server system and here is not the best support resource for Virtual box. If you have any question, it is recommended that you perform the further research
in Virtual box corresponding community so that you can get the most qualified pool of response. Thanks for your understanding.

Hi shahid
your Dell Inspiron 1440 is having the following processor
Intel Pentium Dual-Core T4200 Processor

http://ark.intel.com/products/37251/Intel-Pentium-Processor-T4200-(1M-Cache-2_00-GHz-800-MHz-FSB
)
it is not VT
supported. so you cannot install Windows server 2008 R2 on any virtualization platform. Windows server 2008 R2 comes only as 64bit. to install it virtually (using virtual box or vimware) your processor should support VT. in your case it isn't. but you can
install it on your laptop as the host OS without any issue.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1440 laptop and it has no virtualization support, i want to install Windows Server 2008 on it using Virtual Box, i know that we can install Mac OS on not Virtualization supported system using some patch. I also haired that Virtual
box don't needs hardware virtualization, it will do that using software virtualization. how can i achieve that, any guidance would be very nice. Thanks
