Windows Server 2008 R2 is 64-bit only. You can't install it on 32-bit hardware.

Windows 2008 R2 is a complete 64 bit edition and it marks the future of 64bit server os. You can also see the requirements herehttp://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/system-requirements.aspxhttp://technetfaqs.wordpress.com

Hi AmmarMitoori,Your requirement is not possible , you can install windows 2008 R2 on 64bit processor . But if you are interested on windows 2008 32 bit then your reqirement might fit in.. Please follow the link provided by syed and suggestion by mats sainath !analyze

Please understand that Windows Server 2008 R2 only has 64bit version. it does not have 32bit version.

If MSDN is anything like Licensing service you select the operating system type just before download. What Sainath is saying is that the Windows Server 2008 doescome asboth 32-bit and 64-bit, while Windows Server 2008 R2 is 64-bit only.So look in your MSDN downloads for Windows Server 2008 and select download, I'm sure there is a 32-bit version there somewhere. Also it might not say 32-bit, only Windows Server 2008 and the 64-bit might be labeled as Windows Server 2008 64-bit.
