Hello,

we realized with the certificates many communications from SCOM to Server behind Firewalls. It works

Now, i try to install a Gateway-Server.

In a first step, i installed the certificates on the Server, who have to be the GatewayServer. No problem.

Then i copied 2 the two files of the Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.GatewayApprovalTool in the directory c:\program files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Operations Manager\Setup

I starts a command prompt with Administrator rights, navigate to the Folder and starts the command:

Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.GatewayApprovalTool.exe /ManagementServerName=ourManagementServer.ourdomain.de /GatewayName=ourGatewayServer.ourdomain.de /Action=create

But the command hangs... it do nothing..

The GatewayServer is known on our Management Server, i wrote it in  the hosts file.

What could i do?

you make the approval on the Management Server, right?

Please check if the Gateway server has appeared under Administration -> Management Server...

Please check the Event Viewer on the MS on which you are running the GW approval tool, under "Application and Services Logs" you'll find the "Operartions Manager" log. What do you find there?

As it seems insufficient permissions can be the cause for this behaviour.

in addition check if you running correct bit(64 or 32) version of gateway approval tool on MS.
