I have a Dell server with eight (8) slots for RAM. The memory modules must be installed in pairs.I have pairs of 1GB and pairs of 2GB, a total of 12 GB of RAM.Should I install the pairs of 2GB in slots 1-2, 3-4 and install the 1GB pairs in 5-6-7-8?Is there any performance difference?Thank you.

hi there,installation of RAM doesnt make any difference ,you BIOS will be capable enough to detect them , so you can install in any random order,but after installation , make sure that you see the RAM size changed in BIOS settings sainath Windows Driver Development
