Trying to remove Java 6 update 18. Getting an error 1723 error - driver missing.I have deleted all Java links in Registry and restarted the server.Trying to download a windows install clean-up tool. I get an error when I try to install.Could anyone please provide any suggestions to solve this??

This is a recent load of Windows Server 2008 I ran SFC /scannow - It ran a system scan & integrity fine I ran SFC /verifonly It ran a system scan & integrity fine I ran SFC /verifynow did not seem to do anything(as per email - thanks) The windows installer cannot make any changes. Will reinstalling the Windows installer help?? I tried to download Windows Installer 4.5 (Windows6.0-KB942288-v2-ia64.msu, Windows6.0-KB942288-v2-x64.msu and Windows6.0-KB942288-v2-x86.msu) & installation clean-up tool. Cannot install Windows installer??? Problems appears to be with windows Installer (WI) not Java?? I found the Windows Installation clean-up tool. Ran this & removed the Java JRE. When I try to reinstall JRE, says it is installed?? How do I reinstall WI??
