I suggest you try these links once.

Hi Folks,
I can set permissions explicitly on any object in the filesystem and I can address any object and cause him to inherit permissions from his parent object. I can tell all child objects to inherit from a specific object I am currently addressing and
I can implicitly assert the permissions of the object I am addressing on the child objects with the scope "Applies to subfolders...".
In all cases the inheritances stems from the currently addressed object. I think I should be able to tell all child node to inherit from their respective parents or I should understand why that is a really bad idea.
Can anybody either provide my missing knowledge or explain my fallacy?
Thanks for the help,
Chris.
