I know set of IP address like start and end

I do recommend reading something from TCP/IP fundamentals (though older document, it is stil valid one):

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8781

Howver rememberthat the 172.16.x.x are not routable address ranges. This means that you should consider if you will need use publi addresses in your internal network or NATed ranges are fine for you.

There is a lot of good material on Cisco pages (I ma not employee of Cisco and neither am I engaged in reselling of Cisco technology.)

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ip/routing-information-protocol-rip/13769-5.html

Why are you placing your problem into IPv6 when you currently use IPv4?

Regards

Milos
