I have virtual machines that do not show Internet connection although they are connected
Running Server 2008R2. Two nics. Created virtual network for the second nic. This was running fine up till a week ago. Now virtual machines are showing no Internet, although they can connect to the Internet. Some seem to be
dropping connections after awhile. Not sure if that is related but it seems to be. This is in an environment of 6 Hyper-V servers, 200 vm's. Anyone have an idea what this could be?

check your physical cards on the host, make sure they did not get ip addresses assigned if they were added to hyperv as a switch, they should only have the switch role.

So the 2nd physical nic should be dhcp? I assigned each a static ip. And assigned one as management, one for the virtual switch.

Is the IP addresses being used by other VMs? I can see you have quite a lot of Virtual Machines running... How is IP addresses assigned to the Virtual Machines?

Hi dpowellnt,
Based on my experience , there may be an network error in the VM.
My suggestion is that using the the Network troubleshooter to fix your issue.
Here is the link refer to Network troubleshooter :
