IP Forwarding in Server 2008 SP2
Hello everyone, I am currently running Server 2008 SP2. We are using this machine as a NAT/Gateway, DHCP server, & DNS forwarder. My problem is I have users that need a public ip address forwarded through the NAT to a private IP. I know this should be easy and I am probably overlooking something, but I have went through the RRAS wizard setup and also manually configured it. No luck. I have configured <Reservation Address>. That's pretty straightforward, Public to Internal, Allow incoming connections. I even tried to configure the <Services and Ports> but the problem is, it isn't forwarding the ports that I have selected. On some forwarding I want to open ALL ports just to that private IP address. The rest of the network I want protected. I have also tried configuring the Advanced Firewall Configuration. Tried allowing rules both inbound & outbound, TCP & UDP traffic just to the public and private IPs. After the changes I do restart the services for RRAS &, Firewall. Example: Private 192.168.4.50 Public 24.x.x.230 in & out ports both TCP & UDP forwarded. Mask 255.255.0.0 Mask 255.255.255.240 Gate: 192.168.5.1 Gate 24.x.x.225 Rest of network is firewalled securely. Does anyone have a link page for instructions on how to do this? Thanks A LOT!!
