Hi All,
I have a problem with FTP User Isolation.
I have a Windows Server 2008 SP1 acting as a FTP server (IIS 7). I configured User Isolation, FTP Home Directory configured in Active Directory. All my DC are Windows Server 2003. I have several accounts configured to have a home folder
on a DFS namespace (DFS servers are Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2). These accounts are configured with the msIIS-FTPDir and msIIS-FTPRoot attributes and work well. I have a problem when the Home Folder is a folder link directly
under the DFS namespace.
For example, I have a namespace named : \\mydomain.ca\Data
Under this namespace, I have a replicated folder named Folder1
Under Folder1, there are some other subfolders.
When I configure msIIS-FTPRoot = \\mydomain.ca\Data and msIIS-FTPDir = Folder1, I cannot open a FTP session. I have the error "530 User cannot log in, home directory inaccessible". When I change it to msIIS-FTPRoot = \\mydomain.ca\Data\Folder1
and msIIS-FTPDir = SubFolder1, it works correctly.
If I open a Windows session with the FTP account, I can browse to each level of my file structure without any problem. I don't know if it's a problem witht NTFS permissions or with IIS FTP. I don't see any logs in IIS.
It's possible to connect in FTP directly to a DFS folder target or do we need to connect to a subfolder of it ?
Thank you for your help,
Dominic Cadorette
