IIS 6.0 401.3 Error
I have two web sites (well one virtual directory in particular and one web site). http://www.test.com/dev/app http://app.test.com/ /dev is a virtual directory to c:\dev and there is a subdirectory inside called app. The app web site home directory is c:\dev\app. Both sites are set up to allow anonymous access. The first site works. The second will throw up an IWA prompt. Even if valid user credentials are supplied, the IWA prompt is repeated continuously. This occurs even with en empty static htm page. In the IIS logs for the second web site, we see a 401 3 status code. I don't think it is file permissions as the files are served okay through the first site's virtual directory. And is the account for anonymous access was not good for the second web site, then why doesn't valid user credentials let users get access to the files. I have been going through the tech notes looking for something obvious. So I decided to bounce the question off the forums here.
