IGetAppTrackerData on Windows Server 2003 and 2008
The documentation states that the minimum requirement for using the IGetAppTrackerData is Windows Server 2003 SP1. But it comes only on Windows 7. What do I need to do to be able to use it on Windows Server 2003 and 2008? Thank you.

Based on what I am seeing, it was released with COM+ 1.5 and included in XP/2003, http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms687608%28VS.85%29.aspx Are you receiving any specific errors? -- Mike Burr

I don't see that it's included. It doesn't appear in the OLE/COM viewer and I can't find it in the registry. -Oz

Hi, Please have a look at this article: IGetAppTrackerData Interface http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd179223(VS.85).aspx If you need further assistance, as the issue seems to be related to development, it is recommend you to create a new thread in our MSDN forum. MSDN forum http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/categories/ Thanks for your understanding. Regards, Bruce

That was the article I was referring to when I said "the documentation" states. But it is inaccurate since the interface is not available on the OS part of the comsvcs.dll. Anyway, I've also opened a thread on the MSDN forums now. Maybe I'll get more meaningful feedback from there. Thank you, -Oz

I ended up using the IGetAppData instead. It is not documented anywhere, but it provides similar statistics. Anybody who is interested in also using it can refer to this blog entry. This is what I used as an example for my implementation. http://blog.egilh.com/2005/02/557aspx.html -Oz
