Hiya, Server 2003 R2 - IAS installed to authenticate wireless clients through a RADIUS enabled WAP - all been working fine for months. Now all of a sudden the actual IAS Service will not start successfully - starts and stops instantly with: Event ID 7023 The Internet Authentication Service service terminated with the following error: Class not registered Tried uninstalling / reinstalling IAS and clearing all settings and profiles to no avail - just won't start. Any ideas welcome, apart from the usual Restart and IAS reserved ports KB956189. Thanks

Hi Customer, Please try the following steps on your server to solve the problem 1. Check the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VSS\VssAccessControl Verify that the setting for NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE is set to 1. If this is set to 0 change it to 1. 2. Restart the IAS server. Hi Pavlos33, Look for the permission in the file c:\windows\system32\STDOLE2.TLB file, grant everyone Full Control. If the file is missing, copy it file from service pack files and placed it in the same location (system32) Thanks, Tim God Bless!
