Hyper-V on Windows Server 2008 in VMWare workstation 8 and Processor Support
I am having Dell L401X with Intel i7 740 QM processor
http://ark.intel.com/products/49024/Intel-Core-i7-740QM-Processor-(6M-cache-1_73-GHz)
I am using vmware workstation 8 and trying to install the Hyper-V role in that.
However, I am getting an error telling that my processor is not having Hardware assisted Virtualization and doesn't support this.
Is it true that the above mentioned processor is not having that feature ?
Or I may have to tweak something in the BIOS ?
The Intel website shows this model supports - Intel Hyper-Threading Technology, Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x) and Intel Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d)
Please assist.
Thanks,
