In our environments we have windows 2003, 2008, and 2012. Our Hyper-V servers are on Windows 2012 datacentre, but it is non r2. System centre VMM (SCVMM) is also SCVMM 2012 (non R2).
(1) Windows 2003 are running IS (integration services) version 6.2.9200.16384, and they cannot be upgraded to any version up .. (Already running the current version message
(2) Windows 2008 are running 6.2.9200.16433 and a small minority are running 6.2.9200.16384 which I can upgrade to 6.2.9200.16433 .
(3) Various Windows 2012 are running 6.2.9200.16384, 6.2.9200.16433, and 6.3.9600.16384. Bizarre thing is that, I can upgrade those servers running 6.2.9200.16384 TO 6.2.9200.16433 only. When I try to upgrade the version from 6.2.9200.16433 to 6.3.9600.16384 , I get the message like "you are running the latest version". Why is it? Is it normal?
